Scratch Slam 2025

10th April 2025

Where has another year gone? Somehow, our annual Scratch Slam competition has come round again! In the Scratch Slam, our groups go head-to-head with a variety of performances following several weeks of rehearsal in our regular sessions. There are guest judges, prizes and it’s great fun for everyone involved! Definitely one of the highlights of the UYA calendar.

The Showreel Showcase

10th April 2025

Following our showreel project last year and several months of post-production, our actor showreels were finally ready to share and we were delighted to be able to host a red-carpet premiere event at the Phoenix Cinema in Leicester. On Saturday 15th March 2025 we held two screenings for our actors to seem themselves in action on the big screen.

Showreel Project 2024

26th January 2025

For our main project of 2024 we created 28 cinematic showreels for 70 actors. As well as running our weekly acting classes, we also run our UYA Talent Agency and frequently put our actors forward for professional castings for stage and screen.

Fight Performance with Grace Ford

3rd January 2025

For our summer project this year, we were very excited to welcome UYA alumna Grace Ford back as a guest practitioner to work with our actors on a series of mini-action films.

Urban’s Immersive Theatre Productions 2023

For our final stage productions this year we wanted to do something unique to anything we’ve done before! In September, we set out to create four original immersive plays that break the conventions of traditional theatre, smash through the fourth wall and take the audience on a journey.
